People are always fretting about job interviews, try to prepare as much as possible but there is no way of predicting the outcome. Takeaways: 33% of bosses know within the first 90 seconds of an interview whether they will hire someone. Having little to no knowledge of the company is the most common mistake made during interviews (see: How To Plan Ahead for the Interview). 67% of bosses say that failure to make eye contact is a common nonverbal mistake. When meeting new people, 55% of the impact comes from the way the person dresses, acts and walks through the door. 65% of bosses indicate that clothes could be a deciding factor between two almost-identical candidates (see: What To Wear To An Interview). While this may seem like an obvious truth, I have found that many people do not understand just how important this aspect of their resumes really is.To many, this seems like an obvious way to get a job. In fact, I would suggest that you take the time to do so. It will save you a lot of frustration down the road. Of course, you can also find information online, but the first thing you want to do is set aside some time and research this topic on your own.To make sure that you truly grasp this art and science of resume writing, you will need to start asking yourself a few questions. The following are some of the questions that you need to ask yourself.One question that is very important is the question of who exactly is your audience? If you're applying for a position as a sales rep, your audience is the person at the other end of the phone who you are trying to reach out to. This may not be the same audience that you're hoping to reach out to when looking for a job as a software engineer.Another important question that you need to ask yourself is the skill question. If you are applying for a job as a web developer, your skills will be very different than if you were applying for a job as a salesman. So make sure that you're asking the right questions in order to answer the right questions.Finally, you will need to learn the art and science of effective cover letters. What I mean by this is that you will need to give your prospective employer as much information as possible about what it is that you do and what it is that you can do fo r them. Be brief and be professional, but do not be too brief. As usual, the second semester focuses more on non-corporate careers or those careers with a difference as weve termed them either a different way of working, such as self-employment, or those sectors where graduate recruitment schemes are rare. In other words, careers where you normally have to find your own way which suits a lot of postgraduates. Weve got a glut of events tomorrow, appealing to different types of people. Wed love you to register in advance, but if you havent just come along (youre unlikely to get turned away). You could also start your own company and work remotely on projects from home anywhere in the world if you have the experience, just make sure you have the correct insurance for working abroad. Teaching English Teaching English in a foreign country is a thrilling way to travel. Some schools will require a degree but many are content with certificate programs as well. You can earn really good money in places like Japan, the Middle East, South Korea, and China. Many schools also provide free accommodations, a vehicle, and other perks on top of a salary. There are also opportunities to teach English that will earn less money in areas like Mexico, Africa, India, and South America. Many schools will require at least a one year commitment so make sure that you are willing to stay in one place for that long. You can work with children or adults and it is a great way to become involved in a community, learn more about different cultures, and make a difference in peoplesâ lives. Blogging Blogging is a great way to travel and you can blog from anywhere in the world. You can write about the area that you live in, share your travelling experiences, and interact with people from all over the world. The key is to write well so that you attract a regular audience to your posts. This in turn will attract advertisers, product placements, backlinks and other opportunities that will allow you to earn money while sitting by the pool with your computer.

It not only could, for the mechanics at Toyota Center in Gothenburg Sweden it has worked incredibly well for over?10 years, leading to happier employees, happier customers and higher growth and profits. In this short 13-minute speech, CEO Martin Banck of Toyota Center Gothenburg explains why they made the transition from a 40-hour workweek to 30 and what the results have been. One outcome: Their mechanics now get more work done in 30 hours a week, than other mechanics do in 40. Not only is productivity higher (which you would certainly expect), their actual total output is higher! In fact, several workplaces in Sweden are now trying it out, including hospitals and nursing homes. I fully realize that many people are going to dismiss this out of hand. They are stuck in the cult?of overwork and totally committed to the idea that working more hours always means?getting more work done, even though the research shows that permanent overwork leads to poor health and low performance. It seems counter-intuitive that you could work fewer hours and get more done, but heres another example: One executive, Doug Strain, the vice chairman of ESI, a computer company in Portland Oregon, saw the link between reduced hours for some and more jobs for others. At a 1990 focus group for CEOs and managers, he volunteered the following story: When demand for a product is down, normally a company fires some people and makes the rest work twice as hard. So we put it to a vote of everyone in the plant. We asked them what they wanted to do: layoffs for some workers or thirty-two-hour workweeks for everyone. They thought about it and decided they?d rather hold the team together. So we went down to a thirty-two-hour-a-week schedule for everyone furing a down time. We took everybody?s hours and salary down ? executives too. But Strain discovered two surprises. First, productivity did not decline. I swear to God we get as much out of them at thirty-two hours as we did at forty. So it?s not a bad business decision. But second, when economic conditions improved, we offered them one hundred percent time again. No one wanted to go back! Never in our wildest dreams would our managers have designed a four-day week. But it?s endured at the insistence of our employees. We need to fundamentally?change how we think about?time in the workplace and?Toyota?Gothenburg is a great example to learn from.
